An honest Apple TV Review.

I was first introduced to Apple TV last year when I was trying to find a solution to watch movies from my computer onto my television, and thought I would do an Apple TV Review to help those interested understand exactly what it is. As popular as the iPhone, iPad and iPod are, Apple TV is still a mystery or an unheard of device for many. Before I get into my review ill give you a quick Apple TV review breakdown. Apple TV is a small set top box that plugs in to your HD TV and connects to you router either wirelessly or if you prefer a network cable. Once connected you are able to rent or purchase movies and TV shows right from your TV via the iTunes store. Apple TV Review also allows you to stream YouTube videos and login to you netflix account which is a great alternative if you are not a gammer and don’t have a gaming console to login to netflix as many do. Another nice feature of Apple TV is, when you enable home Sharing on your Apple TV you can brows complete media collections, including photos, videos and music on any computer or music library that also has home sharing enabled. Apple TV to me is the perfect companion to your iPhone or iPad and can extend the capabilities of your device.

Apple TV Review – Extend Your iPad and iPhone

In addition to media sharing Apple TV is so much more. Simple by adding an Apple TV review to your home entertainment system you can greatly extent the capabilities and function of your iDevices. One of the greatest features in my opinion added to iOS was AirPlay. Air play allows you to stream media content right from your iPhone or iPad directly threw your home network to your TV via Apple TV. This is very handy when you want to show off some of your latest photos with a group of people or would like to watch a movie you have stored on your iDevices. Now here is a even more impressive Apple TV review feature. Not only can you stream videos and photos with the latest release of iOS 5 you can now stream your entire iPad desktop via a new feature called AirPlay Mirroring. This new feature allows what you have on you iPad screen to be mirrored on to your TV via your Apple TV. Think of the possibilities. With your Apple TV and airplay mirroring you now have a low cost solution for presentations in front of a large group of people. All this from a tiny but powerful black box with a simple name of Apple TV.

Apple TV Review – Gaming

If you’re a gammer you know that some pretty exciting times lay ahead with your iDevices and your Apple TV. With the latest version of iOS, Airplay Mirroring and Apple TV Review you can now play some of your favourite games, full screen right on your TV via Apple TV. How cool is that. When playing, your iPhone or iPad becomes the controller and the actual game play is viewed on your TV. There are not allot of games that utilize this technology yet, but you can bet that this is going to take gamming world by storm. As phones and tablets get faster and more robust, there will be no need for a separate gaming consol. All your games can be stored and play on your phone or iPad and played via Apple TV. I myself have played a few of the AirPlay mirrored games and they are truly fantastic, the game play was smooth with absolutely no lag on my end. Another great Apple TV review feature.

Apple TV Review – Price

With all these great features provided by Apple TV, Apple as with all its devices has kept the price incredibly low. Depending where you live you can expect to pay between $89 to $119 for the unit. A exceptional deal considering all that the Apple TV is capable of. So to wrap up, if your looking for a device that will allow you to rent, purchase and stream movies right from the iTunes store, play games, netflix, and get full use of AirPlay’s fantastic feature set, Apple TV will do everything you want and more. Apple has been increasing its functionality with every iOS update release. I hope my Apple TV review has helped answer all your Apple TV related questions.
